Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador y Belice a semifinales

Henry Munoz, Influential Texas Money Man, Tapped as Next DNC Finance Chair
Henry R. Muñoz III is expected to be named the DNC Finance Chair, becoming the first Latino to hold the title, Fo {keyword} x News confirmed Tuesday.

Muñoz, a San Antonio native, was an Obama bundler during last year’s presidential campaign and a national chairman of the Futuro Fund, a group of Hispanic leaders who raised money for the president’s reelection.

“He is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Kell Muñoz Architects, Inc., the largest minority-owned architectural firm in Texas,” Politico reported. “Muñoz has designed prolific architectural works in the United States/Mexico Border Region for 15 years; he has shaped the skylines of Texas and is an original and innovative leader in the pursuit of a blended cultural expression through the built environment.”

Besides his work in San Antonio and as an Obama backer, Muñoz also met with former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, according to published reports.

“Muñoz’s clout has only expanded in the ensuing years — in politics, philanthropy and his profession,” the San Antonio Express-News reported. “He dined with Fidel Castro in Cuba and raised funds at his own Monte Vista mansion for presidential hopefuls, including Bill and Hillary Clinton.”

Known for his over-the-top style – he once wore a crown of real diamonds and amethysts after raising more than $250,000 in scholarship funds – Muñoz has held high positions in Texas state government, including the Texas High Speed Rail Authority and the Texas Department of Transportation.

During the run-up to the 2012 presidential campaign, Muñoz organized events for the president’s election campaign as well as the the Latino inauguration event with movie star and fellow Texan Eva Longoria.

"Without question, the presidential election of 2012 proves that Latinos are perhaps the most important influence from this point forward in the election of the president of the United States," Muñoz told the Associated Press this week. "It's important that the {keyword} leadership in Washington view us not as a narrow interest group but as a vibrant political force" that carries not just votes, but influence and financial resources.

The Associate {keyword}d Press contributed to this report.

My {keyword} niece-in-law recently found out she is pregnant with her second. Not long ago, she had askedfor my help setting up an exercise program to help her lose weight from her first (not even oneyear old yet!). She informed me she was pregnant during the holidays by telling me how she started to do my exercise routines, but then had to stop because, well, she waspregnant.Congratulations! But ... wh {keyword} y can't you exercise?I can't say this loud enough: Do not use being pregnant as an excuse to be sedentary and eatcrap.I did that with my fourth child four years ago and it's taken this long to undo the damage.Working out used to be a routine for me. In fact, when I was in my 20s I was very much intobodybuilding. With all three of my older kids, I continued to work out - including lifting weights- throughout pregnancy. With my last, however, I simply stopped. Plus, I ate the grossest stuff. Itmakes me nauseous to think about it now. So don't do that.Check with your doctor first, of course, but there is no reason you cannot work out whilepregnant. Sure, there are certain things you shouldn't do - such as anything involving lying onyour back - but if you're perfectly healthy and it isn't considered a high-risk pregnancy, keepdoing what you're doing ... unless it's being sedentary; then I suggest starting {keyword} with briskwalking.

Have you done almost everything that a cook could do with boneless, skinless chickenbreasts?Time to talk turkey.Other than the big bird at Thanksgiving and ground turkey for a virtuous burger, most peopleoverlook the idea.Fair enough: Ground turkey is sometimes dry and tasteless.Besides, who has time to roast a bird, or even a massive bre {keyword}ast, most nights of the week?Yet the turkey tenderloin — a thick strip of meat cut from between the breasts — offers ahealthful, delicious and convenient alternat {keyword} ive.Because it doesn’t get much of a workout in the living bird, the tenderloin yields particularlytender meat. And, like chicken breasts, the versatile result takes well to the grill, skillet or oven; andworks well with any flavor or marinade. The tenderloins — which range from 8 ounces to 1 pound each — are agreeable to a variety ofcuts. Slice them crosswise into medallions, lengthwise into tenders for breading and baking or intochunks for stir-frying.Because of their size, tenderloins can also be stuffed. Use a paring knife to cut a slit alongone side into the meat (without going all the way through). This creates a pocket that can befilled with a blend of ricotta cheese, egg, herbs and chopped greens. The real benefits of turkey tenderloins are the flavor and texture. Although they resemblechicken breasts {keyword} and can be used in just about any recipe that calls for them, the flavor is morerobust and the texture more moist and tender. You also save a few calories. A 4-ounce serving of turkey tenderloin has 130 calories and 0.5gram of fat. A similar serving of boneless, skinless chicken breast has 144 calories and almost 6grams of fat.
